One thing we’ve learned this year is the importance of celebrating your own accomplishments, big or small! Whether it’s in your personal life or professional life, taking the time to reflect on the journey is so important when it comes to fully embracing your success, whatever it may be.
So we are going to take this one day to reflect on our brand expertise, which is creating innovative at-home skincare solutions for people with all types of skin. All of our products are created through the lens of our legendary founder Dr. Frederic Brandt and his years of expertise in the dermatological field. A common concern we are always about is redness and irritation of skin or more commonly known as sensitive skin. Everyone's skin is completely different and how skin reacts to various stressors or things it comes into contact with, internal or externally, can vary greatly from person to person. However, everyone is going to deal with sensitivity at some point in their life, which is why we wanted to find an at-home solution.
Consumers were searching for a comforting cream to calm and soothe skin that’s been irritated due to weather changes, rosacea, eczema, and other harsh conditions. Over 65% of women and 55% of men reported having sensitive skin in a study done . We all know sensitive skin can be disrupted by external factors such as temperature changes, ingredients and items touching the skin as well as internal causes such as diet, mental health, hormones, and more. Given the widespread attention to this specific skin concern, we wanted to give our consumers a cooling, relieving, luxurious product to help balance their microbiome.
Harnessing the power of ceramides, colloidal oatmeal (commonly found in over-the-counter products) and the hero ingredient cannabis sativa seed oil a.k.a hemp seed oil, our chemists created the perfect combination to soothe skin after being exposed to a myriad of stressors.
After much preparation, we were thrilled to launch the product in July 2020 on our own retail site, followed by our partners, Ulta and Sephora. The product received exceptional reviews, earning 4.7/5 stars on Ulta, 4.6/5 stars on Sephora and placements in top publications including InStyle and New Beauty. Users expressed their excitement upon finding a product to help relieve their rosacea and redness and dryness.
In addition, we were joined by a few influencer friends to help launch the product and speak to their skin experiences, which you can view on our Product Page and YouTube channel!
Throughout 2020, #TeamBrandt and the amazing Dr. BRANDT community has continued supporting our initiatives and new launches. It’s helped remind us of how important community and positivity are in the times of a pandemic.
